Domicil is now available in the prestine San Blas Islands in Panama

​The San Blas Islands off the coast of Panama are one of the most wonderful cruising areas in the world.
Picture this: 364 pristine white coral Islands that lie in crystal clear water sheltered by vast coral reefs.
It is like sailing in an aquarium, a flat sea (no waves) where you can see the fish and the coral for meters below you.
But most importantly, many of Islands are still not discovered by yachts. At the time of our charter Domicil was the only luxury charter vessel in the area.
The Islands are only 1-3 miles apart so it does not take long to get to the next Island, allowing you the luxury of seeing many.
After one day of sailing we had left all sail boats behind us and we enjoyed the bays in absolute privacy.
Only about 30 Islands are inhabited by the Kuna Indians, still living their traditional lives. They trade in coconuts, sail in their hollow tree trunk canoes while fishing for snapper, lobster and giant crabs.
Fresh seafood can be brought to the boat every day, and if you like lobster you have come to the right place.
The Kuna's are a delightful people with a remarkable culture.
They have a 0% crime rate, a life expectancy well above the mainland inhabitants and they are super friendly.
You will easily get invited to their Island to explore their culture. You will surely buy some of their colorful Molas, which are beautiful embroidered mostly square fabric pieces of art. You can stich them on a shirt or pillow case.

The San Blas is a paradise for snorkelers! The reefs are often so close that you can swim from the boat. Unlike other places, the reefs here are very close to the surface so you will snorkel in 1-2 meter (3-6ft) water where the beautiful colors of the fish and coral await you.
Needless to say that a paddle board of kayak are the perfect toys in this area.

Closer to the mainland there are exiting rivers going into the rain forest, and a local  guide can take you up river to explore.

If you are looking for a charter away from the crowds, I would strongly recommend the San Blas Islands for a wonderful combination of breathtaking Islands, superb privacy and delightful culture.

​Logistics:
- The San Blas are 100% safe and no incidents have ever been reported
- Getting there: 
  - Fly to Panama City and a taxi will bring you in 1,5 hour to Domicil. It is a one day sail to the San Blas Islands
  - If you want to skip the one day sail you can take a small plane into the San Blas and meet the boat there.
    Use Porvenir or Nagara airport 
- Money: Bring lots of small US dollar bills. 
- Health: Shots or pills  are not required for this area
